Overview

In common with most vidoes featured on this site the SL-3000 was ahead of its time. Certainly it was way ahead of the opposition. The 3000 is the portable Betamax recorder which was intended to interface with Sony cameras HVC-2000P and HVC-2010P.

The 3000 was very compact and could be operated from either a horizontal or vertical position. It incorporated the latest anti-rolling system which promised stable picture recordings. It also included a dew sensor and automatic video and audio level controls which ment it could be used easily by the non-professional operator. Another feature was the battery protection circuit which put the machine in stop mode when the battery voltage fell below 10.8V.
