I own a Panasonic MS4 Video Camera and am looking for an upgrade - preferably a betacam. As I have only worked with Hi8 and SVHS in the past I have no idea what to look for. Are betacam cameras still used for TV broadcadting now and if so are they expensive? Apparently they are not compatible with VHS and Hi/D8 systems so how would I rig one up to my digital camera for computer editing transfer? It is a tall order so any help would be much appreciated.

Hi,Dose anyone have any idea's to this problem I have with a Sony BVW 400AP. Camera output is perfect, but playback of a recording seems to be out of phase, particularly noticable on reds when there is a blue shadow to the right of the subject, not unlike what you get with the old 3 tube cameras when there not centered.Thanks in advance.

Someone please help me, I have recently aquired a sony bvw22p player, and an Ikegami HL55 SP camera.I have had no trouble with the camera in any way, but the player keeps refusing to play any tapes that I have recorded in the field.When I press play, the time-code counter displays the message ( ERROR 03 ) and then locks out every function. I would appreciate any advice given to me relating to this matter, Thankyou.

Digital Betacam 700 camera: Can anyone throw any light onto what are the differences between the different serial number series on these cameras? eg some are advertised as 41 or 42 series. Do they have a different CCD block? should I avoid the lower serial numbers when looking to buy secondhand? Cheers.

Two questions: First - are used 4:3 camcorders worth buying ie which broadcasters currently accept productions in 4:3 and how much longer will they continue to do this? Would appreciate an overview on this.Second: BVW D600P camcorder - am intimately familiar with BVW200-400 range, don't know D600. Have seen adverts for BVWD600Ps ranging from $12,000 down to $700. Has someone added or left out zeros!?

I have the following items for sale/disposal: Ampex CVR 5 Betacam SP back end (I don't know the Sony equivelant): Ampex CVA 5 adaptor, which makes/turns the CVR 5 into a desktop or field recorder, which accepts the 26 way cable from a camera, and a normal composite BNC feed/loopthrough. The usual 4 x XLR 3 sockets, time code in and out, genlock etc. etc.The hour meter is reading around 30 % certainly less than 40%, but I can't guarantee this being accurate.

It also comes with a Sony VA 500P playback adaptor and the corresponding dub cable.This is a package deal and not for sale separately. Everything works, lights up and produces the expected Beta SP sound and picture quality. There are certain cosmetic modifications to the case (nothing major)because I have used it as a desktop machine with its adaptor. If you require specific details please Email me direct. Im getting 'RF' appear in the bottom left of my LCD when Igo into record and 'servo' flashes. The warning LED also lights.

Its ok on first record,press pause the record again and the fault show

But its ok on playback??

SONY BETA SP BVW 70P Edit Machine PAL .TBC 12. This machine is in good working order producing EXCELLENT BROADCAST quality pictures. It has undergone EXTENSIVE REFIRBISHMENT to ensure long time reliability, including the removal of all conductive glue from the boards and filters, a costly but necessary job to ensure reliability. This is a later machine with the more advance TBC 12 fitted and a DEC 42 board . Hour meter readings. T1: 2263 T2: 0501 T3: 0197 CT: 2518. Has had 3000 hour service. ( NEW VIDEO HEAD etc) . This machine has been used recently for editing programmes for the BBC and ITV companies and is in excellent clean condition.£ 3250.NO VAT.
