In the 80's I used to put together a monthly video presentation for a real estate agent. I'd shoot on Video 8 and then edit onto a Beta machine (can't remember the model number, it was the one with the front-loading tray).

The Beta was so accurate and responsive to the PAUSE button, you could edit with an accuracy of about .5 to 1 second. The tapes had no dialog so I wasn't cutting on words or dialog.

This Beta machine also allowed me to then rewind the tape and have the real estate agent record a narration on it... something VHS couldn't do.

Beta was best!
