I have a VR2324 that is reluctant to accept deck commands. It responds to the keys but usually then rejects it and if you can get it to lace up it invariably laces out again. After persistant 'play' attempts it will eventually accept and then plays fine. Can anyone help or offer service data.By the way I have full service data for the Grundig 2X4 Super so would happily swap.You can also Email me at nokia.com

When my Grundig died a few years ago it took some time to find an engineer willing to fix it but all it needed was a new capacitor and life was restored. When a TV went dead recently it turned out to be a break inside the power lead near the plug. All it took was to chop off the end couple of inches from the cable. Hopefully you might find a repairer who will at least check out these possible easily fixed problems.

Hi, I have two V2000 and one Betamax recorders for sale. The first is a Grundig Video 2X4 with the knob on the top missing. The second is a Philips VR2023 and the Betamax is a Sanyo Betamax VTC 5000 these units have been stored in good conditions for some time but all are complete (apart from the knob)so should be capable of working but will be sold untested. I have a Philips N1700 VCR in perfect working condition that I'd like to sell. It produces excellent picture and sound quality on playback and record.

The owner of this VCR had the machine since new, and it has been carefully looked after and stored in recent years. It's in great overall condition with only minor marks on the cabinet. The VCR has been recently serviced and fully tested, including the fitting of replacement drive belts.

I'm also giving away some free cassettes with the VCR, containing old recordings and adverts.

Hi - first time ever on a chat page - so apologies if my web etiquette is poor.

I have a Phillips N1500 VCR unused since 1976. It has been hermetically sealed for the last decade and in a cupboard for the fifteen years or so before that. Last weekend I rediscovered a couple of cassettes and would like to see if I can get it to play that episode of Kojak supposedly on one of the cassettes.

First problem I have is no power lead - it's a double hexagon shape like none I can remember with the live and neutral perpendicular to one another (no earth). Does anyone know where it might be possible to get a lead?

Also am I likely to be wasting my time on such old equipment (there's a sticker inside dated March 1974!)?

Any hints, encouragements, discouragements all appreciated.

more VCR messages than V2000.... but in a way the VCR System was a predecessor of the V2000.A VCR message board ( and site ) would be great.I have talked with an old GRUNDIG worker last week, the VCR 5000 was planned as a multinorm VCR (VCR, VCR-LP, SVR), but was never built, because of the success of the V2000 System. Only schematics exist. This would have been great, because the three systems are really wasting space in my living room.

I have a Grundig V2000 machine which I bought new in Germany in 1984. It has been well used but I haven't played anything on it since 1995. I have just got it down out of the atic after seeing this site. It doesn't seem to fit in with any of the models listed on the site. It has the symbol "EU=RO" and the model name "Video 2x4M" on the front. On the back it has Best. Nr. 850 (order No 850),serial number 72629.

It used to work before I put it up in the atic (In it's original packaging)After seeing the site I decided to try it out again. However, now it won't thread itself.

Is it worth my wile trying to get it to work? I still have about 30 cassettes, some of which have material on them I'd love to see again

I've scanned the service manual of the Video 2000 2x4 super machine made by Grundig.I left out the tuner parts as well as some of the spare-parts lists as well as notes and stuff. I went there again today and it was still there. The price was about $50 with some cassettes included, and the seller showed me that it works. Now, the question which I would like you enthusiasts to answer is: Should I buy it?

I picked up a Video200 machine yesterday complete with some tapes (and all for 50p) it’s a Grundig V1600 2x4

The machine is in great cosmetic condition, but seems to have a few faults.

When a tape is playing the sound is muffled and quiet with changes in pitch, is this just a simple clean of the audio head or something else?

The picture is a little grainy but not too bad, rewind and fast-forward is good.

I can’t seem to tune in any channels using the tuner, nothing is picked up on the uhf band, is this serious or a simple fix?

Also does anyone know the pinouts for the av din plug or better still a copy of the manual / service manual

Are LVC Philips VCR cassettes made for (I think) the 1500 and 1700 rare or common. I have 13 including some new and sealed. What prices do they go for? I'm not selling at the moment, I’m just interested in knowing if there’s a market for them.

I want to know the modality to recharging the battery, for the use of a camera. In particular, during the phase of recharge, who is the correct position of the switch?

Position 1: tuner/mains orposition 2: camera/battery?

Also, in this moment VR2220 must be separated from VR2120? Write me to e/mail...

Does anyone have service information on the Philips VR2324 ?I'm not sure if this machine has worn heads - or if it's the tapes which were all recorded between 1981-83. It's the typical "bearding" effect on peak whites in the pictures.
