2 Sony Betamax, one SL-C7e and one SL-8000e, 2 Philips, one VR -2025 Video 2000 and one N-1700 VCR Longplay

and 2 Grundig, one VCR 3500 and one V2000. One ITC Ikegami TVR-321, One ITT 240 Color VR-240 and one Universum 10300 BetaColor.

All of them is starting and have been looked over so now I was wondering if you gays can tell me more about them and what they could be worth, I would also appreciate tips about the best places to sell them.

Venca, it looks like a rebadged Sony DVW-500 DigiBeta machine.

The strange thing is, there is actually no 'Error 52' but there is an 'Error 92'. Could it be that the display is faulty?

Best way to find out is to connect a monitor to Video Output Composite 3. That will show more information about the error.

Hey guys, very new to this. I have a BVV-5 VTR and a couple tapes I want to watch for it. The only problem is, right now I can either buy a playback adapter, which would cost me and I dont have another power supply, or I could buy and actual unit, such as the BVW-75 or a UVW-1800 but those are also extremely expensive for my budget. Is there a way to get any signal out of the PB adapter or is that a no-go?

Because these things can get very complicated, best thing to do is download the service manual from the link I listed.

That will give you some idea what the problem is and you can then decide if you can fix it yourself or if you need professional help.

I have the Sony UVW-1800P and when I connect in the composite video input a video VHS or Betamax and the video composite output (Super) to tv appears the message "Not is a standard signal" and the error code 93-000

The image appears with horizontal lines tremble only the colour

I connected the Reference video input, is the same of the composite video input

These videos vhs and Betamax works good if I connect to the tv direct

If I connect a tdt or dvd signal to the Betacam composite input it works good

All the videos and the tv are PAL

Is normal that happen this?

There is a problem with the reference sync. Can be many causes, you'll need to get a copy of the service manual.

Ok Roderick in this page say that the error 93-000 is Servo reference sync signal cannot be detected

But is rare that this error only appears with signals from vhs and Betamax

and not with a dvd and dvb composite video outputs

You or somebody that has a Betacam video can connect a vhs or Betamax to Betacam for see if appears this error?

The UVW-1800 is a very finicky machine that only likes Betacam SP.

There is a 99% change it will just spit out the tapes...

I was seeing the overall schema from the Sony BVW-50P and in the dub output exist the Y, B-Y, R-Y and also the Y direct from de demodulator in 1 wire and the B-Y and R-Y direct from de demodulator in only 1 wire CTDM

These 5 signals are in all videos with dub inputs and outpus?

The dub has more quality that the BNC outputs?

I am new in a "Betacam technology" and I tried digitized some Betacam SP tapes..result is visually good, but I have some problem with stability of picture (lines) and I don't know if it is normal for this technology or I am doing something wrong.

I tried two players DVW-A510P and HDW-M2000, recorded via SDI (Blackmagic shuttle) but same result.

I have the Sony UVW-1800P

The part of the problem is where are the converts Y and B-Y R-Y (CTDM) to digital and after analogic output of the video

The problem is in the Y output, composite video and S video (these use the same Y) has the lines moving as out of sync the B-Y and R-Y run correct I saw in my oscilloscope

This is kind of an urgent SOS for my Sony UVW-1800 Betacam SP deck. I bought this one on eBay strictly for the purpose of transferring old TV studio Betacam tapes to dvd, before they disintegrate. I am about to return it as defective unless someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong: So far my experience with video equipment has only been VCR's and DVD recorders, so to me Betacam SP is a new animal. I'm attempting to copy tapes using the s-video output and the stereo XLR audio outputs. Audio sounds great, but for video I just get a flickering orange screen. I tried connecting to the s-video input of a dvd recorder, a vcr, and also direct to a test monitor. Same orange screen and no video signal. I tried a couple of different tapes, and a few different cables. The UVW-1800 was advertised as tested and working perfectly. It looks like new and only has 302 hrs on the drum. It loads, ejects, plays, rewinds, fast forwards perfectly. So that's why I'm thinking it's something I'm doing (or not doing). I don't have the right cables to copy using the BNC component video outputs, so I can't test that way. But s-video should work, shouldn't it? The seller told me he tested the s-video. I asked exactly how he tested, have not yet received a reply. The thing weighs like 100 pounds so I'd rather not have to return it. But I only have a few more days to test before my return time period expires. Please tell me it's just something stupid that I haven't thought of! Thanks in advance for any help. ---Erroll

Hello all, hoping I can get some advice here please? I have a number of betacam tapes both large and small, and a betacam player BUT how do I get the small tapes to play on it? Do I need some sort of converter/holder? I've inherited the collection as part of an archive donation, and want to be able to play them, and then convert to a different format. Thanks everyone.

I'm no expert, but I believe most Betacam machines that accept large tapes will also accept the small tapes directly. No adaptor necessary. Just slot the smaller tape into the machine in the centre of the loading slot.

Regarding the Audio problem there could be audio circuit problems in AU boards or misalignment of audio heads(in that case your tape will show a folded dent on either top or bottom) if tape is fine then it's the AU BOARDS just in front after the RF boards..as a first aid just remove these AU boards by pulling up and reinserting the same back,if problem persists then you need to troubleshoot with extension board and service manuals if you are competent enough. If you need service manual it's on net. Best regards

Karkera also of the service manual is necessary a sine wave generator, a oscilloscope, a voltimeter and perhaps more instruments

I have acquired a Sony UVW-1800 BetaCam SP deck. I'm expanding my digital conversion business and recently a customer gave me a bunch of these tapes (and I didn't know at first there was a difference between BetaMax and BetaCam. The deck seems to work just fine mechanically, which is exciting. I'm wondering if someone here might help me with getting better video output quality! Using both the S-Video out and the Composite output (BNC) I am getting exactly the same issue with my picture quality. I have gone after each head with a cleaning swab and acetone and unseated and reseated all of the "expansion" boards to no effect.

Hi, I own quite a few old ex broadcast kit. My BVW-75P was playing a tape yesterday when the picture suddenly disappeared on the monitor. The TCR code still shows, sound is ok too, but no picture. The monitor does show that a PAL signal is present.

I have lifted and replaced all the cards I can see, but still nothing. Looking at the technical manual, perhaps the fault lies with one of the TBC cards, caps look ok on all the cards?

The picture was stable and no noticable issues before it disappeared.

Hi, in answer to your questions about the Betacam VTR. Nothing on any video output. Heads have been properly cleaned (which was the first thing I tried). I tried another TBU board and the picture returned briefly until I once again was suffering firstly from picture blocking and then total failure.

Any further suggestions?

I have not tried to see if an input into the machine produces an output - will try this and report back!

Phil this is called E-E or electronic to electronic

For to be clear the inputs signals is changed to FM signals and changed again for to be a normal signal

This only appears in Betacam and U-matic vcrs but in VHS, Betamax and Video 2000 don't appears because is more expensive to put this circuit

The signals of the heads are in FM after is demodulated in this point a tape with colour bars should appear, if don't appear there is a problem in heads o FM demodulator

If appear the A/D D/A converter is bad

But E-E works, I go to search the schema and I will tell you

Other thing is put a colour bars tape and connect a oscilloscope in Y, B-Y and R-Y ouputs for see what output is wrong

This vcr was struck in a car travel of 650 Km in Spain (the friend of the seller drove badly), when I receive works very good but in 3 months after appeared this problem

Hi. Few days ago I've got used BVW-35P from ebay. It have some missing screws. But the more important problem is that it doesn't anything when i press "eject", any other mode buttons, or cassette presence switch. But timecode controls works fine. 9 pin control also not working. I disassembled it, and it looks pretty good. I haven't noticed any damage like missing parts, leaked caps, burned parts, etc. Also i was unable to find part 2 of it maintenance manual. Can anyone please help me with repair of this machine. Thanks!

I have over 100 master copies of adult films in the betacam format. They were produced in the early 2000's by Markman Productions and were shown on Showtime, Cinemax, and HBO. I also have 35mm negatives of various scenes from the movies and the movie scripts. These were given to me by Markman Productions for work I performed. Has anybody got a set of PCB service extenders for the Sony UVW-1800P.

The TBC has failed with no B-Y and low Y signals.

It failed because the SMPU voltage had gone up on the +5v Rail to 8 volts.

The pot on the side of SMPU set it back to 5volts but the damage has been done!

cant see how youfault find without them.

I have a Sony DVW 790wsp Digi Beta Camera. The front glass in front of the CCD is misty/stained and I am looking to find a replacement part.

I think the part no. is 82011 or B2011.

You see it when you look down the lens port.
