Howde! With regards various outputs on the BVW22 - I remember the BVW22 was the most basic Beta SP deck for office playback and confidence checking of tapes rather than editing use, thus Sony did away with any professional connectors and gave it just composite outputs. I presume the 'composite output' you refer to is the rectangular greenish coloured socket - this was used to connect Sony monitors manufactured around the same period and as far as I know this only carries composite video and audio like a very simple Scart. Someone far more technically confident might be able to tell you if it is possible to hack some kind of Y/C output off the deck but I think composite is as good as it gets. If you can trade-up to a UVW1200 /1600 these do have S-video outputs - and can be found for the same kind of price as a BVW22 these days.

Can anyone tell me the advantages of using the single BNC connector on the back of the bwv22p over the composite connector?

And also what is the best way to input this (either socket) into a Pc with a pro editing analogue card.Would I gain improvement in quality by converting the BNC (if better) to SVideo to my card (i have pinnacle dc10 and rt2500) or would i have to settle for composite to composite, thus rendering the lowest quality picture.

Maybe I could even combine the bnc and rca together to create a Y/C signal that then goes into the svideo..SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME. Thank you.

Looking for an English version of the user's manual for a Sony BetacamSP UVW-100P.

Who has one or a copy for me ??

We have been making our Beta SP masters on a SONY UVW1800P via an IO box. We remote the BSP via the RS422.

Normally we would choose the edit to tape mode and black and timecode a tape from 00:58:00:00 - For some unknown reason we can remote our BETA with no problems , but when we try and write a specific timecode ie 00:58:00:00 it has not been working. It starts at any wierd number it wants to.

Has anyone had similar problems to this? Our settings should be OK as it has been working fine in the past. Can anyone help?

I'll be surprised if I get any response but here goes : if anyone is reading this stateside, I have two working BVW-40 NTSC Betacam machines that I'd like to find another home for. These are Betacam ONLY and will not record or play back SP tapes. Plain Betacam oxide tapes that are recorded on SP machines will play back in them. Additionally, I have a case of new/never used Betacam oxide 60 minute tapes that I would like to get to someone that could use them. I also have a BVW-95 NTSC Betacam SP side-loading deck that could either be repaired or would make a great parts machine that I'd also like to find another home for. Recieived some ffedback for my request for a tbc-8 CARD FOR A bvw-60P. was a bit out of my price range as this is for home use only. I actually nead two TBC-8 cards and a TBC-7 to get both players going. Am basically looking for someone who has these cards in working (second hand) condition under the 100Euro mark per unit. DVW700WSP for sale.

The camera is a DVW700WSP. It started life as a DVW700P and was converted by Sony to full WSP spec. It has a recent 42 series CCD block along with the latest board set. There are no bright or dead pixels visible. It is on it’s second head drum which was replaced at 1053 hours. The current hours are:

01 1872hrs02 846hrs03 2925hrs

I have had the camera for 3 years and have had no problems with it during that time, the last tapes that were recorded showed good RF levels, indicating the heads to be in good condition. I only ever use Sony stock.

Included with it is a Portabrace cover and a setup card and if needed a Fujinon Gemini lens, it can be supplied with either the standard V-Lock battery mount or a Paglock Mount.

This is an older camera and externally it has some wear and tear marks and this is reflected in the price. However it is in good working order and has been properly maintained and has been a 100% reliable camera.

As part of a process of attempting to convert my library of Betamax tapes into VHS format, I have acquired a piece of kit that is an almost total mystery to me. As I understand it, it is at the top end of Sony kit, and worth treasuring. It is a Model BVW-20P Betacam video cassette player, from the Company's Brodcast and Professional Division(?). It requires a 12Vdc power supply, which I am in the process of acquiring, and uses a number of non-standard conections which, again, I am in the process of sorting. It appears to have frills so I am keen to get it working, and to understand it, as it has the potential, I believe, to do a better job of tape duplication than freely available domestic equipment. If anyone can throw any light on this portable, quality gear, I would be most appreciative.

Hi I have a film which was recorded NTSC on a DV tape. I need to transfer it ti betacam But the format must still be NTSC I have a sony DSR11 which can record both NTSC and PAL And I have a Betacam recorder sony Betacamsp UVW-1800p. I've just bought a Sony BVW-22P which I intend touse for some "viewable copy" DVD transfers fromBetacam SP. It's not the best Betacam SP machinebut it was in budget!

It was supplied with a tape which plays, but thequality of the original recording is poor and thereis no audio track, so I've still not really testedout my new machine.

Would someone in the UK be so kind as to let mehave or borrow a Betacam SP tape with some reasonablequality recordings on it? Perhaps included a smallamount of test card and sound? I would pay postagein the UK. PAL format of course. I don't mind ifthe tape is a bit worn, so you could use a tape youhave finished with.
